A rumour that “Santa Chris” is back in Richmond this year has been confirmed.
Lansdowne Mall is kicking off the Christmas holidays with the return of Richmond’s favourite Santa for photo opportunities and a concert with Charlotte Diamond on Nov. 23.
“The rumours are true, and it’s very exciting,” said Bronwyn Bailey, marketing manager at Lansdowne Mall, adding that they are thrilled to have him and Mrs. Claus joining them for the upcoming holidays.
Last year, news of the well-known and well-loved “Santa Chris” leaving Richmond Centre caused left many families in the area devastated.
In fact, a Facebook group was created to honour “the real Santa Claus.”
This year, people can have their photos with Santa taken at Lansdowne from Nov. 23 to Dec. 23. However, Santa Chris and his wife Mrs. Claus will only be available on the weekends.
All photo sessions are drop-in and the public is encouraged to arrive early and expect line-ups on weekends.
On Wednesday evenings, the mall will be hosting Pet Night and Santa where families can bring their furry family members from 6 to 8 p.m. Part of the proceeds from pet photos will go to the BCSPCA.
