The 2009 Polaris Music Prize is being awarded tonight! If you're unaware of it, the Prize is given to an independent artist that a panel of esteemed judges deems to have put out "the best Canadian album of the year".
Unfortunately there are no Vancouver artists on this year's shortlist but we do have some judges representing:
Local music blogger Quinn Omari (left), The Vancouver Province's Stuart Derdeyn (middle) and CBC Radio 3's Grant Lawrence (right, who is also hosting the awards show) are all on the panel and have weighed in on whose album should be awarded the honor.
