Most of the time, people associate DJs with very late nights, very loud music, and very bright lights.
However, an event featuring three Vancouver DJs this weekend won't involve any of that, unless you consider the sun a bright light.
The first-ever Morning After Coffee and House music event is taking place at a Yaletown coffee shop this Sunday, May 11. And instead of filling dance floors at midnight, it's taking place around brunch.
Running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the coffee shop party will see DJs Johnny Jover, Clu, and Vstar playing for the midday crowd at Caffe Artigiano's location at 126 Davie St. (near the Roundhouse Community Centre).
Event promoter Outlier say they want to create a space "where wellness and culture overlap," according to the event's page.
"Expect a fire playlist, quality coffee, and optional drink specials for those who want to ease into the day a little differently," reads the page.
Morning After is following a growing global trend of daytime parties at coffee shops around the world, from Esquimalt to Toronto to New York City.
