Infused Dining Series 

This is a dinner party that will take dining to new heights. The Infused Dining Series returns to Vancouver for Canada Day Long Weekend. Join The Nomad Cook for an amazing six-course Canadian-themed menu of cannabis-infused food. Held at a private location, each seating holds up to 10 people and offers guests a unique experience.

Shipyards Night Market

Running May 4 to September 28, 2018, the Shipyards Night Market will once again liven up Shipbuilders’ Square in North Vancouver’s lower Lonsdale with over 100 vendors, including food trucks, and a 19+ beer garden. With a “hot food alley” stacked with dozens of food trucks, the Shipyards Night Market is one of the summer’s most delicious pop-up weekend eats destinations. Plus sip on craft beer and cider in the beer garden, shop from the many vendor stalls, and enjoy live entertainment.

When: Fridays from 5 to 10 pm, now to September 28, 2018

Richmond Night Market

Midway games, vendor booths, live entertainment, and an insane amount of food will once again draw crowds at the Richmond Night Market. The market consistently offers an impressive quantity of options for shopping and eating–they have over 100 food stalls and 200 vendors.

When: Now to October 8, 2018. 7 pm – midnight Fridays and Saturdays, 7 pm – 11 pm Sundays and holiday Mondays

Cost: $3.75 admission, free for children 10 and under and seniors 60 and up (with ID)

Ice Cream Socials at Beta5

Summer is the sweetest time of year in Vancouver, made even sweeter by the creative treats being served up at the Ice Cream Socials every weekend at Beta5. The wildly inventive sundaes Beta5 will have on offer for their Ice Cream Socials are all inspired by pop music. They’ll be running Ice Cream Socials every weekend through the summer, so check their social media or website for details about what tune and its companion sundae is on deck next.

Great British Tea Party

For the Great British Tea Party, Notch8 is pulling out all the stops: Vintage décor, bunting, Union Jacks, and a red telephone booth can be found in the restaurant’s Private Dining Room. There’s Coronation Chicken, roast beef and stilton, and egg salad tea sandwiches; Eton Mess; scones and Devonshire cream; and plenty of house-made UK-inspired pastries.

When: Now through September 3, 2018. Seatings at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm

Dinner in the Sky

This summer, the option to eat a meal while you’re suspended about 50 metres over Vancouver is once again on the table, thanks to the return of Dinner in the Sky. Run by WESTCOAST Sightseeing, Dinner in the Sky has brought Vancouver chef Ned Bell on board for this year’s event. The way Dinner in the Sky works is that you are safely strapped in around a communal table, with the chef and their helpers and a safety expert at the centre. Up you go into the sky, where you’ll have your food and drink while taking in a spectacular view.

When: June 23 to July 29

Where: 415 West Esplanade, North Vancouver

Steveston Salmon Festival

Every year, skilled volunteers grill over 1,200 pounds of mouth-watering salmon over open fire pits. The famous salmon BBQ sells out every year and plates are only $16 per person (prices subject to change). There will also be food trucks and vendors cooking up a storm throughout the day, not to mention a pie and ice cream parlour. Come early, because the day begins with a pancake breakfast at 6:30am.

Ribfest at Mamie Taylor's

The ninth annual Canada Day RibFest comes to Mamie Taylor’s, and features a cook-off competition between chefs and master grillers from some of the city’s top restaurants meeting over the flames in Chinatown. Only 100 Judging Tickets ($10 per person) will be made available to members of the public, who will help choose the winning chef/restaurant; they'll be available onsite at Mamie Taylor’s on Canada Day at 2pm, on a first-come-first-served basis.

When: Sunday, July 1 at 2 pm

Cost: $10

Ball Hockey Tournament at Timber

Head to Timber on July 1 for a "good ol’ ball hockey tournament" benefitting B.A.S.H (Britannia After School Hockey program). The tournament is put on by Bomber Brewing’s own Cam Andrews. Sit out on the Jervis street side or in the bleachers and watch the game while nibbling on some Timber snacks. Bomber Skyline Lager will be on special all day. Hang around to catch live music from local talents Bradley Pedwell and Matthew Presidente starting at 5:30 pm.

When: Sunday, July 1. Ball hockey from noon-4 pm; live music 5:30 to 9 pm.

Brasserie & The Beest

Craft beer connoisseurs can get an exclusive taste of an award-winning Quebec brewery when Wildebeest welcomes Brasserie Dunham for Brasserie & The Beest. Taking place in the restaurant’s ‘Underbelly’ private room, the standup-style mixer will pair bites of signature Wildebeest fare with five kegged and bottle-conditioned Brasserie Dunham beers--plus you can meet the brewmaster.

Indian Summer Festival Opening Party

Every year, the Indian Summer Festival spices up the season with an array of culinary and cultural programming in Vancouver. Kick off the fest at the Opening Party, which features superstar chef Vikram Vij presenting a line-up of top local chefs who will take you on "a gastronomic journey around the world." Slated to participate are Vij’s, Blue Water Cafe, Cedar Feast House, Jamjar, Cacao, Taybeh, and ARC at the Fairmont Waterfront.

Fridays on Front

For a second year, weekends in New Westminster kick off this summer with a family-friendly night market...with booze. Featuring artisan vendors from New West Craft, live music curated by the New Westminster Arts Council, and beloved street eats from food trucks from the  Columbia StrEAT Food Truck Fest, Fridays on Front will take over the 600-block of historic Front Street.

When: Friday nights from 5-9 pm from July 6 to August 24, 2018

Brunch Affair

Now in its second year, Brunch Affair will bring several local restaurants, vendors, and chefs under one roof for two days of delicious brunch eats. The ticketed event gives attendees the chance to try their pick of edible offerings from places like Rosemary Rocksalt, local favourite Finch & Barley, the Johnny Can’t Surf coffee cart, vegan “meat” innovators Very Good Butchers, the Spanish flavours of Cabrito on Commercial Drive, and more–with other participants to be announced soon.

Sip, Savour & Sesh - An Afternoon for the Herbally Inclined

An Afternoon Tea Party for the "herbally inclined" means you dress up and hit up a rooftop patio party. Enjoy fine teas in the mid-afternoon breeze. Surprise and delight and fine treats await.

Beer and a Curry X Main Street Brewing Co.

Check out this Sunday night Beer and a Curry pop-up, teaming B.C.'s finest beer with India's finest curries. This time, it's Main Street Brewing. Tickets cost $35 and include one Main Street Brewing Co. beer, appetizers, and tons of curry, plus loads of naan.

Tasting Plates North Van Lower Lonsdale

Explore the Lower Lonsdale and area of North Vancouver and tantalize your taste buds at selection of restaurants, and cafes. Organized by Vancouver Foodster, this event has participating spots serving up Tasting Plates and Tasting Cups for guests to enjoy. Roam at your own pace and fill up your tasting passport.

Mercato Italian Market

This unique market brings together the tastes of Italy and fresh local produce for sale. Shop for a vibrant assortment of fresh fruit and vegetables, handmade products from local artisans, and delicious food prepared by the Il Centro Italian Cultural Centre’s chef. The Italian community market element allows you the opportunity to bring home a taste of Italy.

Happy Hour Weekend at La Mezcaleria

As a muchas gracias to its customers and surrounding communities for their patronage over the years, the locally owned eatery will be offering its happy-hour menu at its Commercial Drive and Gastown outposts for the entire weekend. In addition, both La Mezcaleria locations will offer a two-for-$10 and five-for-$20 deal on a specially prepared list of small tacos.

Summer Salad Cooking Workshop

Lobster & Crab Boil Dinner at YEW

The team at YEW seafood + bar is celebrating summer by bringing back the ultra-popular family style Dungeness Crab and Lobster Boil Dining Series. Guests will tie on a bib (yours to keep) and raise a complimentary glass of wine to begin the evening. These communal family-style dinners promise to be fun and delicious.

Kitchen Takeovers at The Narrow Lounge

The Main Street “hole-in-the-wall” is holding a series of pop-up dinner events styled as full-on Kitchen Takeovers, showcasing some under-the-radar culinary and foodcrafting talent in the region. Instead of being ticketed, coursed dinners, these pop-ups will be done first-come first-served style, and will feature a la carte menus of dishes available until the kitchen runs out. First up, on the 16th, The Narrow Lounge will give the kitchen over to Handtaste Ferments. Next up, on the 17th, you’ll find Jody Peck of Wild Northern Way behind the stoves.

Fuggles & Warlock Pig Roast Beer Dinner at Mamie Taylor's

What's better than pork and brews? Mamie Taylor's legendary pig roast done up with beer pairings from Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks. Welcome drinks at 6:30 pm, sit-down dinner starts at 7 pm.

Seaside Pearl Winemaker's Dinner

Enjoy a five-course dinner from Chef Jordan of Langley's Eighteen 27 restaurant paired with a selection of wines from Seaside Pearl Farmgate Winery in Abbotsford. The evening kicks off with a wine reception, followed by the intimate sit-down dinner.

6th Annual Cocktail Jockey Competition

The celebration around The Deighton Cup actually gets underway the day before the fancy day at the races, on Friday, July 20, at the 6th Annual Cocktail Jockey Mixology Competition, which takes place at Prohibiton at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Area bartenders will be mixing up their take on rum punch and competing for a cash prize, and the glory.

Port Moody Rib Fest

Three days of delicious BBQ eats, free live music, craft breweries, and family fun are on deck at Rock Point Park for the annual Port Moody Rib Fest.

The Deighton Cup

Now in its tenth year, The Deighton Cup will mark their decade with another afternoon of food, fashion, and, of course, some horse racing. Attendees can feast on food from some of the city’s favourite chefs and restaurants. The menu will include things like aburi sushi from Miku and Minami to soulful meats from Dixie’s BBQ, and much more. Those opting to book a a Trackside VIP Booth or Grandstand Box will enjoy a spread from the acclaimed Hawksworth Restaurant.

Steveston Ciders & Sours Fest 2018

O’Hare’s GastroPub and Liquor Store is delighted to announce the inaugural Steveston Ciders and Sours Fest. This Festival will host approximately thirty five booths and will showcase local craft ciders and craft ‘sour-style’ beers. You will have the opportunity to sample some of the best ciders and beers the province has to offer.

BC Tree Fruits Cider Pairing Dinner

Craft Beer Market has partnered with BC Tree Fruit Cider for this special edition of their monthly dinner series.Enjoy refreshing local ciders paired with with a custom gluten-free dinner prepared by Chef Jurgen Jurgens on the patio. Your ticket includes a welcome special release Rose Cider plus four courses each paired with a different BC Tree Fruits cider.

Yes You Can! Preserve the Summer

Learn how to preserve the goodness of the season's produces through various preserving techniques, using produces that are in season. Think pickles, jam, vinegars, and pesto. You will be served a glass of wine during the class and a welcome snack (additional wine available for purchase). Plus you get to go home with printed recipes and a 4oz jar size of each recipe.

Tacofino Beer Dinner Series: Phillips Brewing & Malting Co.

Another installation in Tacofino's ongoing dinner series: This month, Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. and Tacofino will team up for a 5-course dinner at their Hastings Sunrise location. With two seatings, the dinner will showcase beer from Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. paired with brand new Tacofino dishes created by Executive Chef Stefan Hartmann and Head Chef James You.

Betty's Boil Up

A good old fashioned seafood boil, with beer, is on the menu at Central City on Beatty. Lobster, mussels, fried clams, prawns, and Vancouver Island Rockfish are tossed in sweet cajun spices with roasted nugget potatoes, corn on the cob, lemon and herbs. You will be welcomed with your choice of our very own Red Racer beer.

Chronic Tacos Grand Opening

The Chronic Tacos location that used to be on West Broadway near Cambie closed down recently, but it’s not gone for good–they’ve re-opened the franchise at Waterfront Station. To celebrate the big move they're holding a Grand Opening party which will include a whole bunch of food and drink specials like 50% off tacos, and an in-person appearance by TV stuntman and investor  Jason “Wee Man” Acuña.

Brewery & the Beast Vancouver

Taking place outside at the Concord Pacific lot near False Creek on Sunday, July 29, Brewery & the Beast brings together some of the city’s finest meat slingers, cooking up eats in all sorts of styles. Expect to sample everything from barbecue, sous-vide, to smoked, grilled, and slow-cooked, and most proteins will be provided by event sponsor Two Rivers Meats, one of the finest in the biz.
