The parade of professional women's sports through Vancouver continues this summer as the Women's National Basketball Association heads to Rogers Arena.
This will be the third WNBA game outside the U.S., and the first regular-season game. In 2023 and 2024, exhibition games were played in Toronto and Edmonton (respectively). Toronto has a team coming, but they won't play until 2026 (next year).
Now the WNBA has announced when tickets will go on sale for the Vancouver women's basketball game.
"Tickets for the third 'WNBA Canada Game presented by Tangerine' featuring the Atlanta Dream and the Seattle Storm will go on sale on Wednesday, May 28 at 10 a.m. PST," reads a press release from the basketball league.
Presale tickets will be available May 27 for people who register on the game's site.
The WNBA is gaining in popularity in Canada, the league notes in the release, with game viewership up 175 per cent year-over-year.
Women's sports in Vancouver are having a good year. The PWHL held a sold-out Takeover Tour game at Rogers Arena in January and then announced a new women's hockey team coming later in 2025.
The Northern Super League also launched professional women's soccer in Canada this year, with the first game taking place at BC Place in front of more than 14,000 fans.
In light of the growth of the WNBA in Canada, the WNBA has also launched Canadian-specific social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
