For the first time ever, a regular-season WNBA game will take place in Canada.

This Friday (Aug. 15), Vancouver welcomes the Seattle Storm (the closest team to Vancouver) and the Atlanta Dream for an exciting game at Rogers Arena.

Fans can see notable players like Nneka Ogwumike and Alisha Gray on the paint. Perhaps ironically, Dream star Jordin Canada (from L.A.) was recently injured and is unlikely to play in Canada.

Right now, the Atlanta Dream are in a battle for first place in the Eastern Conference, while the Seattle Storm are in the middle of the pack in the Western Conference.

Doors for the game open at 5:30 p.m., while the game will get going at 7 p.m.

Tickets: What is still available?

Ticketmaster shows plenty of tickets still available, mostly at the ends of the court in both the upper and lower bowl.

The lowest cost tickets are currently running about $35, in the upper bowl corners.

At the other end of the cost spectrum, courtside tickets are still available, running up to $830 per seat.

All tickets to the game require the moving barcode. No screenshots are allowed.

Transportation

TransLink doesn't have any notable alerts for SkyTrain or SeaBus service on game night.

Hullo is running a special late-night sailing to Vancouver Island. It departs from Vancouver Harbour at 11 p.m. and arrives in Nanaimo just after midnight.

Restrictions

A few things aren't allowed in Rogers Arena for the show. Notably, some bags won't be permitted; all bags need to be under 35.5 cm by 35.5 cm by 15.2 cm. For reference, 35.5 cm is just a bit over 13 inches.

Signs will be allowed so long as they don't have political, religious or obscene messages. They also can't block other people's view or block signage.

Rogers Arena is also a smoke-free zone, as far as cigarettes and cannabis are concerned. The band may have smoke machines.

Other common-sense items, like skateboards, selfie sticks and outside food and drinks, should be left at home.

Cashless venue

Rogers Arena is a cashless venue.

"Concession, retail stands, and hospitality will exclusively accept contactless forms of payment," states the venue's website.

Fan service

Rogers Arena has a fan service number to text if there are any issues during the show: 604-765-3267.

Concert-goers can text their issue and their location (their section, row, and seat number) and get help.
