It’s Pride week in New Westminster and even the police department is getting in the spirit.

The base jumping community is mourning the death of a Squamish athlete who previously made local headlines for launching off the iconic KL Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2015. Mike Racicot died on July 26 in Switzerland, his sister told The Chief. It was his 969th jump.

A new exhibit will give Vancouverites the unique opportunity to check out some of local senior fibre artist Sola Fielder's incredible place-based tapestries.

The Vancouver International Airport is gearing up for its third annual YVR Chill Out park party on Saturday. The day sees Larry Berg Flight Path Park, a green space along the Fraser River ideal for plane spotting, festooned with tents, decorations and a stage featuring live music.

The lyrics celebrate Vancouver’s natural beauty and are filled with boundless optimism for the future — “This is the place where I want to grow up and fulfill my dreams” is the hook behind the catchy pre-chorus.
