Fatburger will be opening a new location in downtown Vancouver in a historic building.

A new flagship location of the popular Fatburger chain will be coming to downtown Vancouver.

The burger shop will be located in the Vancouver Block building on Granville Street, just south of the intersection with West Georgia Street. The company, originally founded in California in 1952, opened its first Canadian location not far away in English Bay in 2005. It now has 63 Canadian locations with five in or near downtown Vancouver.

As a flagship location, it'll be a little nicer than shops, with 18-feet high ceilings, a bread oven for onsite baking and "state of the art grilling stations," according to a press release.

"We are opening this location with new changes that can provide us significant leverage to improve convenience, speed and value for our customers,” says Frank Di Benedetto, owner of Fatburger Canada.

It'll also have breakfast thru dinner options and plant-based items.

The company is moving forward with the new location now in part because of the receding pandemic.
