You can get Beer Ramen at this local Japanese restaurant

Is it beer, or is it ramen? A new dish on Richmond’s Yuu Japanese Tapas’ menu has certainly stirred up curiosity.

Served in a glass stein, beer ramen is served with cold bonito (fish) broth and egg whites to make the “foam” on top.

And no, there’s no real beer in it.

The unique ramen option is available on Yuu’s summer menu for $14.95 and is served with a side of tempura. For those who have tried it, multiple people have shared on social media that they were “skeptical,” but that the dish was “refreshing” and “delicious.”

Last fall, Yuu caused a stir with their ramen challenge, giving customers the chance to pay just $5 for a full-sized bowl if they could finish it all within 10 minutes.
