Big Way Hot Pot is opening a new restaurant location in Vancouver in February 2024, with another in Richmond to follow in the spring. The hot pot chain has plans to add several more Metro Vancouver locations, too

A local hot pot restaurant chain known for its self-serve 100-plus ingredients and over 10 broths has plans to expand across Metro Vancouver, in a big way.

Fittingly, this is Big Way Hot Pot, which currently operates four locations across the region, with one restaurant each in Burnaby and Richmond and two in Vancouver.

In the first half of 2024, Big Way will grow its portfolio again with the launch of two more locations in the works. First up will be a Big Way Hot Pot in Kerrisdale, initially projected to open in January, according to a representative for the business, though the time ultimately was pushed back to the following month.

New Vancouver location open as of mid-February 2024

Big Way has moved in at 2145 W 41st Ave, taking over the space previously home to the last Gram location standing; the Japanese souffle pancake chain has slowly folded all its outposts and left the Metro Vancouver market altogether now.

The Kerrisdale Big Way Hot Pot went into its "soft opening" mode as of Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Next up will be a second Big Way Hot Pot in Richmond in the Ackroyd area. The chain has not yet revealed the address for the restaurant but says the goal is to open what will be their sixth location in spring 2024.

However, Big Way Hot Pot is poised to have as many shops as they have broths, it seems. They list as "coming soon" on the restaurant's website locations for Lougheed, UBC, Coquitlam, Surrey, and North Vancouver. No details about those restaurants have been made available at this time.
