A new 24/7 Breka bakery is coming to a Vancouver neighbourhood

It'll be the furthest east the bakery has stretched.

Breka Bakery is set to open a new 24-hour cafe location on East Hastings Street in Vancouver.

Breka, the Vancouver chain of 24/7 bakeries, will be opening its furthest east outpost next year.

Signs for the new bakery-cafe are up in a storefront on East Hastings Street near Nanaimo Street.

The shop had been a Polonia Sausage House until last year, when they moved to a different location on the same street, leaving the 2434 E Hastings St. location empty.

Breka has been expanding significantly in recent years. While the family business started in 2006, its second location didn't open until 2012. However, in the next ten years, they opened five more, growing to seven total shops around the city.

The bakery is known for a wide variety of baked goods sold around the clock, including donuts, sandwiches, and loaves of bread, as well as being a great late-night eats option in Vancouver, as many Breka locations are open around the clock.
