After almost three decades in East Vancouver, the Sea House Fish and Chips restaurant is closing.

Vancouver is losing a restaurant that's been a part of the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood since the 1990s.

The Sea House Fish and Chips restaurant closes Monday, May 26, for the final time.

"After an incredible 28-year journey, they’re hanging up their aprons and heading into a well-earned retirement," reads a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The longtime purveyor of crispy halibut, calamari, prawns and more opened at 3003 Kingsway in 1997, offering fish and chips at affordable prices.

"Thank you for your unwavering support and for being part of this unforgettable chapter," reads the Facebook post.
