After spending nearly two years empty, a space on Denman Street is being filled by poutine.
Signs are up for Mr. Poutin, a 100 per cent Halal poutine place, at 1187 Denman St. An Instagram account describes it as a 100 per cent halal restaurant specializing in poutine but also carrying burgers, sandwiches and ice cream.
Online and at the location, signs indicate Mr. Poutin is "coming soon," though it appears the location is still undergoing some renovations.
The space near English Bay Beach has been empty for a while.
La Catrina Tacos was last in the storefront. It opened in the spring of 2016 and closed in the fall of 2023.
