Humble dumpling your passport to global flavours at upcoming Vancouver tasting event

Taste your way around the world here in Vancouver on this ticketed self-guided tour
Vegetarian Vietnamese dumplings from Do Chay. The Yaletown location of the restaurant is one of the four stops on the Oct. 6, 2021 Dumpling Fest tasting tour.

Folded into a tidy dough package and yielding a delicious filling, dumplings around the globe take on many flavours and forms.

The upcoming Dumpling Fest - resumed after taking a pandemic pause - uses the humble dumpling as a passport to taste your way around the globe without leaving Vancouver.

Taking place on Wednesday, October 6, Dumpling Fest will feature bites from select Vancouver restaurants showcasing dumplings in numerous forms.

Bite into tortellini from Italy, empanadas from Mexico, and more to see how versatile dumplings can be as you take yourself on the self-guided tasting tour with stops at four independent Vancouver restaurants. Each venue will offer tasting plates, and some will include a beverage.

This year's participating restaurants are:

  • Do Chay Saigon Vegetarian
  • Maizal
  • Cold Tea
  • La Bottega di Mangia

Tickets are $49 per person before Sept. 24 and $69 after Sept. 24 and must be purchased online in advance.
