It's the end of an era for one of the trailblazers in the hot Vancouver cold-pressed juice arena: The Juicery Co. has announced they are closing their stores immediately.

The announcement was made Friday on Instagram, and owners Alex Troll and Christina Prevost (Alex's mother), explained the closure, citing "an organic farm to run, and a new baby in the family," as two primary reasons for shuttering their retail operations in Metro Vancouver.

The Lonsdale location will close on Sunday, August 19, while the Main Street location will be open through Wednesday, August 22. Retail products are on sale for 40% off.

The Juicery Co. began in 2013 when Troll looked into the benefits of juicing to help her grandfather's cancer treatment. Working with her mother, they launched The Juicery Co. soon after, among the first wave of small-batch fresh juice shops to hit Vancouver at the time, eventually offering cleanses, smoothies, retail products, and more.

Ultimately The Juicery Co. opened a farm in Pemberton in order to grow their own produce for some of their juices.

Here is the full farewell message posted to @thejuiceryco on Instagram:

To our amazing customers,

We are announcing the closure of our stores. Thank you so much for sharing our passion for organic cold press juice. With an organic farm to run, and a new baby in the family, it’s time to close this chapter and start a new one. We will truly miss seeing you every day, we’ve enjoyed getting to know all of you and have appreciated all your support over the last five years.

The Juicery Co. was created with love. In 2013 we opened our doors after learning the amazing benefits of organic cold pressed juice. This impacted our father/grandfather's experience with cancer, and the business was started with the intention of sharing what we had learned.

We feel proud to have provided the highest quality organic juice and are feeling fulfilled in our quest.

The brand will live on as we pursue new goals and partnerships, we’re excited to share them with you soon!

We appreciate all your understanding and patience during this time.

With love,

Christina and Alex
