After 40 years in business Hoy's Wonton House is shutting its doors for goods.
The longtime dinner place at 1202 Kingsway has posted a notice on its door announcing that their last day of operation will be later this week, on Saturday, July 29.
"It is sad to announce that our restaurant will be permanently closed at the end of July 2023," reads the note.
They add that they've tried to stay open, and could open somewhere new.
"We tried our best in the last couple of months to extend the lease, but the new building owner refused to do so," reads the note. "We have no choice but only to make this very sad decision after serving this community for many years."
The restaurant served traditional and fusion food with everything from the wonton soup to Chinese donuts to more than a dozen types of congee.
