Victoria's coffee scene has gotten a fresh jolt thanks to the recent addition of Vancouver's Milano Roasters right in the heart of downtown on a bustling Government Street corner.
Milano takes over the space that was home to the popular Pour since 2016 at 817 Government Street.

I actually was in Victoria over the weekend and passed by the new Milano, which was bright, airy and welcoming, with indoor and outdoor seating, in a prime location.
This is now Milano's second outpost on the Island, following in the caffeinated footsteps of their Comox location. Here you'll find award-winning Milano coffee, sandwiches, and locally-made baked goods--much like at the Milano cafes in Vancouver, including their roastery on 8th in Mount Pleasant.
"We are thrilled to open a second location on Vancouver Island and bring Milano to our province's capital city," says owner Linda Turko in a media release. "The warm reception from locals and tourists has been wonderful since opening our doors, we are looking forward to building relationships with the community."
Founded in 1984 on the practices and principles of the Italian style of coffee roasting and brewing, Milano began as a direct flight from Italy to Vancouver in the hands of Francesco Curatolo. Owner Brian Turko spent 15 years learning from the Master Roaster before taking on Milano as his own; his wife Linda is on board at the business, too.
