The new-ish West End spot that's got an all-vegan treat-yoself menu is hosting a wine and plant-based cheese event on Feb. 14. The cocktail-party style gathering will feature an array of Blue Heron ‘cheeses’ that includes Mostarda Cheddar, Ardea Blue, Fig Cumulus, Wolf Flower and more, as well as canapés by Beetbox Chef/Co-owner Bryan Satterford, all paired with Old-World all-vegan wine. East Van Roasters: Heart Beets For You chocolate bar

Giving the gift of chocolate from East Van Roasters is truly one of those gifts that gives back. Proceeds from their delecatble chocolates directly support mentorship-based programming and on-the-job training for women re-entering the work force. EVR is a certified charity and social enterprise owned and operated by the PHS Community Services Society, a non-profit housing and health care agency. For Valentine's Day this year they've got the Heart Beets for You bar: It's a vegan chocolate bar with coconut, cascara, beet chips and candied ginger. Available at their Gastown shop.

This local vegan French macaron maker has a sweet set for lovebirds, the lovelorn, or anyone who just simply loves macarons. They also make a larger heart-shaped macaron "cake." Order through their website for pick-up or delivery; 48-hour notice required. 

Locally Raised: Love Bites doughnuts

It's hard not to fall in love with doughnuts, especially when they are delivered to your door and made with totatlly plant-based ingredients, down to the sugars. For V-Day, they've got "Love Bites" in the mix, which is a doughnut dipped in strawberry creamsicle icing with a chocolate-dipped strawberry on top. For Valentine's Day, the innovative sweets shop is debuting their 100% plant-based Chocolate Hearts Collection, which features five pieces of chocolates filled with a variety of ganaches and pralines: São Tomé dark, yuzu – matcha, raspberry praline, tropical crunch, and Peruvian dark. Head to their beautiful new shop and cafe in Strathcona to pick some up.
