The bubble tea take-over continues in Metro Vancouver, as Taiwanese BBT shop The Alley is set to open the doors at their second location in the area, this time in Richmond.

The Alley, considered the "pioneer of the original brown sugar tapioca" will be officially launching their second B.C. location on Feb. 15 at 1316-8368 Capstan Way in a space that had previously served as a hair salon. Their first B.C. location, on Hornby Street in downtown Vancouver, opened in early 2019.

The "Deerioca" is The Alley's claim to fame--that's their in-house and scratch-made tapioca pearls. Also on the menu are brewed teas, milk teas, juices, and specialty drinks - like something intriguingly called the Oreo Devil Slush - as well as seasonal hot and cold specials.

Additionally, at this new location, as well as all their other Canadian locations, The Alley is debuting a new BBT food item on Feb. 17: Two flavours of bubble tea popcorn.

Bubble tea-flavoured treats have become a subset of the BBT trend, showing up in ice cream bars and other candies. The Alley's popcorn - available in Black Tea and Golden Oolong - is the chain's first food product.

To further entice you, The Alley will be warming up for their grand opening weekend by offering 10% off any of their drinks on Feb. 13 and 14. However, if you can't resist a deal and don't mind a line-up, on Feb. 15 and 16 at 3 p.m. The Alley will be giving away 100 free drinks and souvenir pins.
