Beat the summer heat with a sweet treat for a great cause this weekend. Vancouver's The Praguery is holding a pop-up ice cream fundraiser for the BC SPCA in honour of National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 19.

The event will take place at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet near YVR Airport in Richmond, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Praguery will have their dessert truck on site in front of the shopping centre, and will be selling a special ice cream with raspberry toppings with a fun dog-shaped cookie.

An impressive $5 from every cone sold will go directly to the BC SPCA to support their Champions for Animals Initiative that works to protect and enhance the quality of life for animals in our province.

Known for their signature chimney cakes (sweet dough wrapped and cooked in a cylindrical shape), The Praguery has been serving up their take on the traditional treat since 2016.

If you're keen to get a cone after grabbing some lunch, you can hit up McArthurGlen's newly renovated and recently opened Food Folk Eatery, a "food court" featuring outposts of Hula Poké, DirtBelly, and Chachi's Sandwiches.
