A new mini convenience store selling Taiwanese goods has quietly opened in Richmond.
Old Memory Kitchen is the newest addition to the Memory Dining Group, joining local restaurants Memory Corner and Sweet Memory.
The store is located on Leslie Road, two units down from Sweet Memory, and is designed to resemble an old-fashioned Taiwanese grocery store, complete with wooden shelves and wood-coloured walls.
Inside, there are three giant freezers of frozen, pre-packaged Taiwanese food, as well as shelves filled with old-fashioned Taiwanese snacks, candies, cooking necessities and toys.
From handmade dumplings to tomato beef brisket noodle soup, the food is all dishes that Memory Corner serves in its restaurants and selling them frozen allows customers can easily cook and enjoy the food in the comfort of their home, according to Memory Corner's website.
Memory Corner was established in Vancouver in 2013 to bring authentic Taiwanese cuisine such as lamb hotpot, small hotpots, fried snacks and Taiwan beer to the community.
