Vancouver's downtown go-to spot for all things baked potato, Russet Shack, is closing down permanently after almost four years.

Launched in early 2016, the casual eatery on Robson Street near the VPL's central branch specializes in baked potatoes, or, as the Brits call them, jacket potatoes, loaded up with a variety of toppings.

Among the ways you can load up your tater at Russet Shack include with Butter Chicken, Chilli & Cheese, Steak & Cheese, and in a variety of globally-inspired combos, such as Japanese (teriyaki sauce, tuna, cucumber, ginger), Thai (sweet chili sauce, roasted eggplants, string beans, green onions), or a classic British (sweet corn, baked beans, and shredded cheddar).

Earlier this year the restaurant added wraps and combo platters to their menu. Also, for some time, Russet Shack had been operating a food truck in tandem with their Robson Street shop.

Russet Shack announced this week their last day would be November 25.

In their goodbye message, Russet Shack includes a message to customers: "We appreciate your business and hope we can continue to serve you in another location." However, the restaurant notes in the comments section that they do not have another planned location, but that they would share any news on their social media accounts.

Russet Shack is located at 288 Robson Street in Vancouver
