Sure, sweets play a part in every major holiday but there is no celebration more married to chocolate than Valentine's Day. A heart-shaped box of chocolates? Classic.
These Metro Vancouver cafes and bakeries are taking on the classics and introducing new and exciting takes on sweetness this Valentine's Day.
Kafka's Coffee Roasters has come up with an eight-inch heart-shaped cookie pizza, complete with a box. The gooey masterpiece is topped with Oreo pieces, Smarties, and marshmallows and available by the slice during the Hot Chocolate Festival.
For a more upscale adult take on Valentine's Day treats, Mon Paris Pâtisserie has a lineup of cakes, chocolate bonbons, and delicate macarons that are showstopping enough to gift. For instance, they've got potted Camellias made entirely of chocolate and a truffle tower.
