A long-time Coquitlam family restaurant is getting a new name and brand.

FDF Brandz, the franchiser of the Ricky’s All Day Grill chain, has rebranded the Coquitlam abc Restaurant at Schoolhouse Street and Lougheed Highway as a Ricky's Country Restaurant.

As a result of the change, the restaurant will feature new items for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including popular comfort food, while serving some of the abc classics.

The restaurant, located at 300-100 Schoolhouse St, also has new decor, and customized murals that showcase food, heritage and community, a press release states.

In 2014 Ricky’s acquired the Western based abc Country Restaurant chain, most of which have successfully converted to the Ricky’s Country or Ricky’s All Day Grill brand.

“We have been injecting new life and vitality into the abc legacy brand. We kept country in the name because it really describes the essence of the restaurant, that is home-style cooking served by neighbours to neighbours in ample portions in a family-friendly environment,” said Frank Di Benedetto, CEO and owner of FDF Brandz, in a news release.

The newest addition to the Ricky’s Family Group is run by seasoned local restaurateurs, Ali and Matty Radvar, who previously operated the now-closed Ricky’s All Day Grill Lougheed location.

“We are excited to be bringing Ricky’s Country to the Coquitlam community, welcoming local residents and loyal abc customers with a hearty breakfast, lunch, or dinner served up with a smile,” Radvar commented.
