Tim Hortons says they are the victim of a hoax.

An article published March 25 on the website "Canada-eh" claims the Canadian coffee chain is closing all of their stores, including drive-thrus, effective Monday.

“While takeout and eat-in dining is no longer available, customers also will not be able to use the drive-thru or delivery,” notes the Canada-eh article.

When contacted by the Mirror, Tim Hortons officials said they were still working on removing the Canada-eh story.

“We have no official plans to close any restaurants any further,” says Meghan Giffin with the company this afternoon.

“The information in this article is completely false. Tim Hortons continues to welcome guests for take-out purchases, drive-thru orders and where available delivery," said a Tim Hortons spokesperson.

“The original story was something that we are attempting to deal with at a legal level and we are not closing down any further than we already are."

“Our restaurants are open and here to serve you, through pick-up, drive-thru and delivery, where available. Thank you to our restaurant owners and team members for their continued commitment to serving our communities and those who serve our communities across Canada.”
