The business had been there for nearly 20 years.

Vancouver baking company Terra Breads has closed its cafe in Mount Pleasant.

Just a little under one year after the original Terra Breads location closed, a second location of the bakery business was shuttered.

The Mount Pleasant cafe at 35 W 5th Ave. closed last month, ending service on Dec. 2. However, the company's production facility will remain at the location, Terra Breads tells Vancouver Is Awesome.

"Terra Breads bakery and café locations in Olympic Village and Granville Island will continue as normal. Wholesale operations will also continue as normal," states an email to V.I.A. from a company representative.

In a note on the door of the West 5th Avenue cafe, the bakery operators thank the community for its support over the years.

"Thank you for visiting us over the years as neighbours in the community," reads the poster.

Terra's original location, a bakeshop in Kitsilano, closed after 30 years at 2380 W 4th Ave. at the end of 2022. The company cited changing times and the end of its lease as the reasons for that closure.

The Mount Pleasant location opened in 2005.
