A new specialty grocery store and pasta boutique is set to open in Vancouver's Yaletown area called La Bottega di Mangia

Ready to mangia some pasta, deli meats, and cheese? A new "pasta boutique" featuring Italian grocery items is set to open this summer in Vancouver.

Called La Bottega di Mangia (which translates to "the shop of eats"), the new specialty store will be located at 1155 Pacific Boulevard in Yaletown in what had previously been a Leafy Box outpost.

La Bottega di Mangia will focus on top-notch Italian foods, promising to stock "only certified authentic high quality Italian products," according to the business, which specifies the three major regulation boards that oversee numerous foods in Italy. These "protected" foods are certified by their governing boards and are created under strict conditions and bear the seal of the certifying organization. Such foods include Parmigiana Reggiano, San Marzano tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar from Modena.

The shop will also feature an array of hand-made pasta and sauces, prepared in-house by Executive Chef Alessandro Riccobono.

Renovations are underway for the market, and the business is hoping to make its debut this June.

La Bottega di Mangia is an off-shoot project of Mangia Cucina & Bar, an intimate Italian restaurant that operates in a converted heritage house on Manitoba in Mount Pleasant.
