Vancouver Italian restaurant Trattoria is closing their original Kitsilano location.

"Just imagine how many meatballs were eaten in 15 years," reads the announcement that Trattoria Italian Kitchen is closing its original Kitsilano location.

The Glowbal Group-owned chain opened its first location on 4th Avenue back in 2008. "We couldn't have imagined such popularity that we would grow to expand to other neighbourhoods," continues the announcement. "But this is not goodbye, just see ya later."

The restaurant is reportedly looking for another Kitsilano location to replace this one which is closing due to the lease coming to an end. In the meantime, Trattoria has locations in West Vancouver, Burnaby, and is planning to open another in Langley very soon.

“It’s been an incredible 15 years in Kitsilano and the restaurant has a very special place in my heart," Glowbal Restaurant Group CEO and President Emad Yacoub tells V.I.A. "I will be moving to the area later this year personally and can’t wait to find another location so we can all enjoy the next 15 years together.”

The last day to visit the restaurant location, located at 1850 W 4th Ave, is April 6.
