Homicide investigators are scouring a wooded area in Langley after a man was found dead.

Langley RCMP was called to a wooded area in the 7400-block 208 Street just after 12 p.m. on Tuesday when the man was discovered.

The death does not appear to be a “random” act and could be targeted, according to investigators.

Police are not providing any further details about the man only that he is 29-years-old and from Langley.

Police are in the evidence-gathering phase and are expected to be in the surrounding area for a significant period of time.

“I want to assure the public that IHIT is well-resourced for all our recent investigations,” says IHIT spokesperson Det. Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi. “We have the support of our specialized policing partners, Lower Mainland Integrated (ITeams), and our dedicated homicide investigators.”

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is at the scene and is working with Langley RCMP.

Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448.
