Police searching B.C. neighbourhood where 3 family members were found dead

"Preliminary evidence suggests there is no outstanding suspect, though we are not ruling out any investigative theory," says IHIT.

Police continue to comb the Surrey neighbourhood where three people were found dead on Monday.

Just after 12 p.m., Mounties in Surrey were called to a residence in the 15600-block 112 Avenue in the Fraser Heights area. When police arrived, Cpl. Vanessa Munn says they found three individuals, all believed to be family members, dead inside.

"No one else was located at the property,” said Munn.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and police are currently in the evidence-gathering phase.

“Investigators will continue to be in the area speaking to neighbours throughout the day,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT in a statement Tuesday. “Preliminary evidence suggests there is no outstanding suspect, though we are not ruling out any investigative theory.”

Munn says police do not believe that there is any ongoing risk to public safety.

Police have not released the identity of the deceased or the motive.

Anyone with information about the deaths and the investigation is asked to contact the IHIT information line (1-877-551-4448). IHIT can also be reached by email: [email protected].
