As there's a huge film and TV industry in Vancouver, there's a lot of people here with the skills to make a music video.
There are also lots of longtime local musicians, like Dan Mangan, Dear Rouge, and the Dreadnoughts who often use their town as a setting.
Here are five other artists who used Vancouver as a setting for their music videos.
1. Elvis Costello & The Attractions - (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding
While he may be a resident of Metro Vancouver now, at least occasionally, he's originally from London, UK, and that's where he was based in the 1970s.
In 1978 he released "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding" and while it wasn't an official single, a music video was made (illegally) in Stanley Park.
2. blink-182 - First Date
Shot in 2001, Blink-182 was one of the most popular bands in the world at the time and based in California, so it might be easy to assume they shot it at home, but nope, that's Big Splash Water Park and Tsawwassen (even it it says it's El Segundo).
3. Drake - Another Late Night ft. Lil Yachty
Given how dark this music video is, it may be hard to figure out exactly where it was shot, but this is Maple Ridge (and it appears to be the Golden Ears Bridge as well).
4. Bryan Adams - Heaven
Bryan Adams may be a local product, but by the time "Heaven" came out he was a global star; "Summer of 69" was his next single and on the same album.
Vancouver's Granville Street features in this clip, but not the downtown core. The theatre exterior featured is the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage in Fairview (the interior shown where Adams is playing in the video is somewhere else).
The street scene is also on Granville.
5. Rascalz - Top Of The World (Feat. Barrington Levy & K-OS)
The Rascalz are from Vancouver, so it isn't a big surprise this video (which topped the MuchMusic charts in 2000) was shot here.
If you catch the opening frames, it's obvious it's Vancouver, but this video also has clips of a few other cities' skylines, so one would be forgiven for thinking this was somewhere else.
However, the majority of the video is of Vancouver in 2000.
