Aerial footage shows shocking side-by-side views of Fraser Valley flood lands taken weeks apart (VIDEO)

The video shows where the water still stood ten days after the flood arrived
Abbotsford-Flood-comparison
Video from a helicopter compares Nov. 24, 2021 to Jan. 28, 2022 in Abbotsford.

It's now been almost three months since Abbotsford was hit by historic floodwaters on Nov. 14, 2021.

In this video, the extent of the flooding on Nov. 24 can be seen and compared to how things look as of Friday, Jan. 28. That's 75 days after the flooding started.

For most of the clip much of the area below is covered by standing water on the Nov. 24 side; the comparison allows viewers to see how high it got compared to buildings. All buildings are clear of the water on the Jan. 28 side; some are nearly covered on the early video.

The video, uploaded to YouTube by Bacon Torque, follows Highway 1 heading northeast over Abbotsford. At about the 39 second mark the helicopter flies over the No. 3 Road exit (which is partially submerged by the floodwaters in the older video).

While things have improved for the residents of the area in regards to flood water, the damage will take months or years for people to recover from.
