Vancouver Coastal Health has added two bars, a Mount Pleasant cultural club, and an 'electronic music event' to their list of locations where possible COVID-19 exposures occurred.

Among the new additions to the growing roster is The West Pub, a Downtown Eastside bar where paper notifications about COVID-19 exposures between the dates of Aug. 20 and 30 had been posted, though the health authority had not put the venue on their online warning list.

“We have not issued a public exposure notification for the West Pub,” a VCH spokesperson told V.I.A. Wednesday, clarifying that it only puts a facility on the list if it isn't able “to notify those exposed by other, direct means."

However, The West Pub has since been included on the list, with the potential exposure period extended to Sept. 8.

Richmond's Flying Beaver Bar and Grill and the Athens Cultural Club, are also subject to the exposure warning. Additionally, the You Plus One electronic music event was a private gathering held in the Granville and Helmcken area in downtown Vancouver the night of Aug. 29 and into the early hours of Aug. 30.

Here are the details about the locations and dates with possible COVID-19 exposures:

If you visited any of the indicated venues during the times of possible exposure, it does not mean you will develop COVID-19. The possible exposures are believed to be low risk but, out of an abundance of caution, Public Health asks anyone who may have visited the locations listed on the specified dates and times to monitor themselves for symptoms.

VCH adds locations to the list as a precaution and believes possible exposures to be low risk.

If you have been identified as a COVID-19 case or close contact, VCH Public Health will contact you directly and provide further instruction.

Last week, VCH issued a possible COVID-19 exposure warning for the El Furniture Warehouse bar and restaurant on Granville Street for August 25 and 26, as well as one for a mixed martial arts gym. Earlier this week, VCH put three downtown Vancouver nightclubs on the list.

On Tuesday, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced she had amended B.C.'s public health orders to call for the immediate closure of nightclubs and standalone banquet halls. New measures also roll back operating hours for bars and the hours in which a bar, pub, or restaurant can serve alcohol.
