Images: Condo development with grocery store proposed for Kitsilano

The proposal "draws inspiration from the textures, patterns, and tones of the late 60s and 70s prevalent in the Kitsilano area"

A stretch of West Broadway in Kitsilano may be under construction in the coming years.

A four-storey condo development with a grocery store on the ground level has been proposed for 3048-3080 W Broadway in Greektown. The 61-unit residential strata would have 12 studio units, 28 one-bedroom condos, 14 two-bedroom homes and seven three-bedroom units.

The design is meant to blend in with the community.

"While subtle, the proposed structure draws inspiration from the textures, patterns, and tones of the late 60s and 70s prevalent in the Kitsilano area," reads the application.

Currently, that section of Broadway is home to a few buildings housing several businesses including a Big O Tires, Neverland Tea Salon, Le Petit Spa, Stock Home Design and a Circle K.

The proposal comes from designers Formosis Architecture and developer Jim Pattison Developments.

Which grocery store will be located at the proposed development was not included in the application.
