Among the guests at this years Metro-Con will be Walking Dead star Michael Cudlitz and Battlestar Galactica star Edward James Olmos.

Battlestar Galactica may have ended more than 15 years ago, but it's fondly remembered by many sci-fi fans.

The series was not only a hit show, but (despite mostly taking place on space ships) also featured plenty of Vancouver as it was shot throughout the Lower Mainland.

Now the Battlestar Galactica cast will be returning for a reunion at the first Metro-Con, a fan expo planned for the beginning of October in Burnaby.

More than a dozen cast members are participating, including Edward James Olmos (William Adama), Michael Hogan (Saul Tigh), James Callis (Dr. Gaius Baltar), and Grace Park (Number Eight/Boomer/Athena).

"We're thrilled to welcome the cast back to where it all happened, and to give fans a chance to celebrate the show's incredible impact on science fiction and pop culture," says event founder Norm Coyne.

It won't all be about Battlestar Galactica, though. Michael Cudlitz (who played Abraham Ford in The Walking Dead, among other roles), Keilani Rose (who's currently in Shoresy), and Lochlyn Munro (who's been in everything from A Night at the Roxbury to Peacemaker) are also attending.

While there will be panels with the actors and others, there will be a variety of pieces to the fan event, including cosplay contests, photo and autograph opportunities with the celebrities, an artist's alley (no AI is allowed), acting workshops, and a vendor area.

For those looking for nighttime activities, there are three ticketed events, including celebrity karaoke on Friday, Oct. 3, and a wrap party on Sunday, Oct. 5.
