Last year, WestJet’s discount carrier, Swoop, announced that they would offer discount service between Metro Vancouver and Mexico.
Now, the low-cost carrier is running the 2019 Swooper Sale to kick off the new year and the deals are hot. For one, they are offering extremely low fares on every one of their itineraries. The sale commences on January 8 and runs until January 10, or until they sell the available 7900 seats.
For example, if you are looking to fly to sunny Mexico, Swoop offers one-way flights from Abbotsford to Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta for only $99 CAD. Of course, once the selected date sells out of tickets at that price, then the fare will go up. However, certain dates, like the one shown below, allow you to purchase $98.60 CAD including all taxes and fees.

While Mexico is on sale, Swoop is also offering a plethora of deals on other hot destinations. For example, you can fly from Abbotsford to Las Vegas or Hamilton, Ontario for only $69 CAD including taxes and fees on travel between January 22 and March 6.

Note: While the low-cost carrier is an extremely affordable alternative, it is worthwhile to note that there are a number of additional costs. For one, luggage will cost extra, as will selecting your own seat or even speaking to an operator. As such, it is important to factor in what you need to bring, or if you want to sit in a particular spot prior to making a purchase.
