Here is when Vancouver may see showers this weekend

Looking forward to some more summer showers?

The Metro Vancouver weather forecast includes a couple of chances for showers over the weekend after the region saw a great deal of scorching hot, dry weather most of the summer.

Starting on Thursday (Aug 19.), Environment Canada calls for a high of 24°C that will feel more like 28°C with humidity. Cloudiness is expected to increase overnight, ushering in a 40 per cent chance of showers Friday throughout the entire day. 

And while Saturday is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud during the day, the forecast includes another opportunity for showers at night. Similarly, Sunday's forecast includes a chance for showers during the day while the evening is expected to see some cloudy but dry periods. 

Heading into next week, Monday is expected to see a mix of sun and could with a high of 20°C while Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be a couple of degrees warmer.

Overnight lows are expected to dip down to 12°C or 13°C Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Environment Canada warns that dry, warm weather may continue through the rest of summer and into the early fall, too. 

Canada's national weather forecaster will release the official fall forecast on Sept.1, the first day of meteorological fall. However, Environment Canada Meteorologist Armel Castellan says there are early indications that toasty weather may continue into the coming season.
