Fraser Health is warning customers who visited a Langley car dealership last month that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 during their visit.

The health authority on Nov. 5 posted an update to its current public exposures page, with Willowbrook Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge RAM Dealership now appearing at the top of the list. The warning is targeted to customers who spent time at the Metro Vancouver dealership, located at 19611 Langley Bypass, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 or 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26. The public exposure notification only applies to the dealership's shuttle bus and the service department.

While this newest possible exposure, as well as the others listed on the health authority's site, are believed to be low risk, people who made use of the shuttle bus or visited the service department during the specified times are asked to self-monitor for symptoms of the coronavirus, "out of an abundance of caution."

Just because an individual may have been present during one of these public exposure instances does not mean they will develop COVID-19, Fraser Health cautions.

There is no known risk to anyone who attended the dealership, its shuttle bus or its service department outside of the listed dates and times. According to Fraser Health, there is no need for people who remain healthy and do not develop symptoms to self-isolate, meaning those individuals can continue on with their usual daily activities.

If  any symptoms of COVID-19 do arise, the people experiencing them are asked to seek testing and self-isolate immediately afterwards.

B.C.'s health authorities only add locations and times of potential COVID-19 exposures to its public exposures lists when public health staff have been unable to reach or identify all individuals potentially exposed via contact tracing.
