Man allegedly lights something on fire inside a Metro Vancouver Walmart, runs away

Police are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

A man allegedly lit something on fire inside of a Metro Vancouver, B.C. Walmart before fleeing the store on March 22, 2022, according to police. 

A man allegedly lit something on fire inside a Metro Vancouver Walmart before fleeing the store, according to police. 

Police say they were called to the Walmart at 10153 King George Boulevard in Surrey at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 23). 

An employee watched the man allegedly light the item on fire before he fled the store on foot. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

"The fire was small, quickly extinguished by staff and no injuries were reported," states the RCMP in a news release.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his 30s with a medium build, wearing a grey jacket, black hoodie, blue T-shirt, grey sweatpants, dark baseball cap, dark gloves and a medical mask. He was carrying a black duffle bag.
