Watch: Metro Vancouverites react to wet snow, sleet and slippery streets

It caught a lot of people by surprise.

A cyclist rides through the sudden wet snow flurry in Vancouver on Nov. 6.

Hours after Environment Canada ended its alert for snow in the Metro Vancouver area, the first snow of the season arrived.

In most areas of the city it didn't stick, but at higher elevation areas there was definitely a build-up of the white stuff.

Online, people reacted with a certain amount of surprise, especially given the heat wave hitting parts of Canada (for example, Toronto hit 25 C this weekend).

Outside of the City of Vancouver a lot more snow was sticking to the ground.

People in the area seemed to have one of two reactions.

While chilly, snow is not in the Environment Canada forecast for the rest of the week in Vancouver.
