Police are uncertain about an incident between a man and a woman that happened Sunday and are hoping to speak to witnesses soon to better understand the nature of the altercation.

“We don’t know the relationship between the two people involved in this incident, whether anyone was injured, or even if there was a crime,” says Vancouver Police Department (VPD) Sgt. Steve Addison in a press release. “We’d like speak to anyone who saw what happened, or even with the man and woman who were involved so we can better understand what happened.”

The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. on March 7 when a man and a woman got into a confrontation that may have turned violent in the parking lot of the Walmart on Grandview Highway near Boundary Road.

They were apparently standing near a Dodge Challenger.

While 911 was called no first-hand witnesses stayed at the scene to talk to police and the two people have not been located.

"We don’t know exactly what happened, but we believe a woman may have been in distress and we urgently need to find out more,” Addison says. “We think a number of people saw this confrontation, but left the area before speaking to police.”

Police are particularly interested in speaking with a man in his 60s who was at the scene. He was driving a grey SUV.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call detectives at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
