Poll: Have you started Christmas shopping? Some finished, many haven't started, and others aren't at all

As Christmas Day approaches, the shopping season is upon many in Vancouver.

At the start of December more than 10 per cent of those living in city had already finished their shopping, more than three weeks before unwrapping day, with 11 per cent in the city and 13 per cent of readers having wrapped up their shopping.

A much larger group are well on its way, with just over 21 per cent having gotten a good chunk of their shopping done already.

However, the majority of those who are buying gifts still have all or most of their shopping to do. A little over 16 per cent have just scratched the surface, and the largest group, more than 28 per cent, haven't started at all.

The second largest group that responded aren't worrying about gifts on Dec. 25, with more than 22 per cent of those living in Vancouver not planning on buying any Christmas gifts at all, for one reason or another.

Vancouver Is Awesome polled 758 readers and asked the question: Have you started Christmas shopping?

The poll ran from 11/27/2022 to 12/3/2022. Of the 758 votes, we can determine that 406 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

Results are based on an online study of adult Vancouver Is Awesome readers that are located in Vancouver. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 3.56%, 19 times out of 20.
