Surrey RCMP are advising the public that a 14-year-old boy has been missing since Monday evening.
The Surrey detachment states that it is continuing to search for 14-year-old Arnav Naphar who was last seen at approximately 5:45 pm on May 4. They add that he was last seen in Highland Park in Newton when he was with his family, but that he went off on his own on his bike to loop around the park and never returned.
The family informed RCMP that it is normal for Arnav to ride his bike alone but highly unusual for him not to return home.
Arnav is described as a 14-year-old South Asian male, 5'9" tall, approximately 110 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and white jacket, and black track pants with a white stripe. The bicycle was a grey men’s bike and he was not wearing a helmet.

Police have engaged the Surrey Search and Rescue (SAR) team who searched the trails last night and an RCMP helicopter conducted an aerial search. SAR is continuing their search in the area today. The Surrey RCMP Missing Persons Unit has taken conduct of the investigation and will be conducting inquiries in the neighborhood.
