One person is dead following a shooting in Richmond Friday night.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), which has been deployed to the scene, said Saturday one of the two men shot at a restaurant on Capstan Way and Garden City Road has died of his injuries.

Investigators say they believe the incident was targeted.

Richmond RCMP responded to the shooting shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Two victims were rushed to hospital suffering injuries as a result of the incident, said RCMP.

Anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or by email at [email protected]

The shooting follows an apparent “exchange of gunfire” between two vehicles at a gas station at the intersection of No. 3 and Blundell roads Thursday night.

That incident also appears to have been targeted, according to RCMP.
