An art exhibit showcasing illustrations about the Russian invasion of Ukraine is coming for a pop-up event in Vancouver.

The event will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at Also The Kent Gallery in Gastown and will feature works by the internationally-acclaimed Pictoric illustrators’ club — a proactive community of Ukrainian illustrators, graphic designers, and artists.

“War in Living Colour” shares a Ukrainian perspective of the Russian invasion through 50 thought-provoking illustrations. Among special guests at the reception will be one of the artists belonging to the club who recently arrived in Vancouver.

The gallery will be open for leisurely viewings between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. A closing reception will be held in the evening, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. There will be a cash bar, live music, and food.

All proceeds will go towards supporting a rehabilitation program for Ukrainian children who lost their parents in the war, organized by the Ukrainian Canadian Advocacy Group.

Tickets for the reception cost $30 and may be purchased online

The Also Kent Gallery is located at 534 Cambie Street in Gastown.
