One person died and another was injured in a small plane crash near Mission Monday evening.

Just before 6 p.m., a single-engine Cessna 170 crashed on an abandoned air strip near the north end of Stave Lake, outside of Mission in the Fraser Valley.

Mission RCMP officers attended the scene with the the help of Mission Search and Rescue crews, as there was no road access to the crash site.
