It's been five months since the popular store burned down.

Back in June, a massive fire tore through the Value Village on East Hastings Street.

It took over 45 firefighters to quell the blaze which could be seen across the city and it left the Value Village - a popular store for thrift shoppers - completely destroyed.

Vancouver Fire Rescue Services has confirmed that their investigation is concluded, though they could provide V.I.A. further comment about the cause of the fire.

Five months later and the empty lot has residents of the neighbourhood wondering what comes next.

District regional manager Brenda Beerfcroft told V.I.A. at the opening of Value Village's new boutique store on Granville Street that the East Hastings community really misses the old location and that Value Village is actively looking for a new building to move into in the same neighbourhood.

V.I.A has reached out to inquire about fate of the old lot at 1820 E Hastings St.
