While the city saw a day of sunshine on Thursday, the Vancouver weather forecast calls for plenty of rain this week.
Starting on Friday, Oct. 16, the forecast calls for periods of rain during the day and partly cloudy skies at night. Following this, Saturday will see a brief respite from the wet weather, with mainly cloudy skies during the day. However, rain is expected to return in the evening.
Sunday is expected to see showers during the day and cloudy skies at night. Monday's forecast calls for cloudy skies during the day, followed by rain at night.
On Tuesday, the forecast calls for periods of rain during the day and a 60 percent chance of showers at night. Wednesday calls for a chance of showers all day and carrying into Thursday.

Photo: Environment Canada In September, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Climate Prediction Center officially issued a La Niña Advisory, replacing a watch that was implemented earlier in the year.
The Canadian Government defines La Niña as "the appearance of cooler than normal waters in the eastern and central Pacific Ocean"—A.K.A. the waters off B.C.'s coast. Sometimes also referred to as "a cold event", the climate pattern is generally considered to be the opposite of El Niño and is usually great news for skiers and snowboarders hoping for a season full of champagne powder.
