What a week. A heartbroken ex lined the streets of Kitsilano with interesting pink flyers and the Rolling Stones announced they're making a stop in Vancouver on their 2020 No Filter Tour.
Here's what you may have missed:
1. Someone posted rather interesting pink flyers in Kitsilano
If you've been in Kitsilano over the past few days you've most likely noticed some... um... interesting pink posters attached to telephone poles and on flyer boards.
We don't know who this guy is, who he wronged, or what his side of the story is. All we know is that someone thinks he's a "cheater" and a "liar". 💔
2. A Vancouver brewery has closed after receiving fines and a licence suspension
Popular Vancouver brewery Coal Harbour Brewing Co. announced Saturday it is closing and ceasing operations immediately after being fined by the provincial liquor board for failing to pay back taxes.
The craft beer brewery was founded in 2010 and was best known for its 311 Helles Lager and award-winning Smoke and Mirrors imperial smoked ale.
3. This Vancouver hotel took the top spot in the Best Hotels in Canada 2020 rankings
One of Vancouver's most luxurious hotels has been ranked number one on a list of the 25 Best Hotels in Canada for 2020. The ranking comes from U.S. News & World Report, which ranks the best hotels in Canada based on an analysis of industry awards, hotel star ratings and user ratings. The Fairmont Pacific Rim, right on beautiful Coal Harbour, has earned the highest spot.
B.C. dominated the list, with nearly half of the country's top-ranked hotels. 🏩
4. The revamped design for a controversial Waterfront Station tower has been released
A proposal for a controversial building at Waterfront Station dubbed the 'Origami tower' is back with a revamped design.
Back in 2015, the City of Vancouver’s Urban Design Panel rejected the proposal for the 26-storey tower for 555 West Cordova St because it was concerned about the location, sustainability measures and the relationship between the property’s private and public realms.
We spoke to Tom Knoepfel, senior vice president of the western portfolio for Cadillac Fairview, about the new plan for what it’s calling, 'The Crystal at Waterfront Square.' 💎
5.The Rolling Stones will make a Vancouver stop on their 2020 No Filter Tour
Those big, red lips and tongue teasing the city a couple of days ago were right on the money: The Rolling Stones are heading out on tour and will make a stop in Vancouver. The Stones will rock Vancouver on May 12 at BC Place.“It’s always a pleasure to return to North America and play for some of the biggest and best crowds in the world!” said Mick Jagger via a media release. 🎸🎶
