On Tuesday, police seized a trove of weapons, drugs, and what is believed to be stolen property – including bikes, cell phones, and credit cards – from a rooming house in East Vancouver.

“Officers initially went to the residence for an unrelated investigation,” explained Vancouver Police Department Cst. Tania Visintin.

When officers entered the home, she said “they discovered numerous people appeared to be living there and saw copious amounts of drugs, weapons, and property that nobody claimed.”

Eventually, they arrested an occupant of the home, Alexander Woodley, who was wanted by police on an outstanding warrant.

The 35-year-old has been accused of the unauthorized use of credit card data and other fraud-related crimes.

“This was an extensive seizure as we believe these weapons would be used in the commission of serious, violent offences,” stressed Visintin.

The house in question is located near East 27 Avenue and Knight Street.

Weapons recovered from inside the house included gun ammunition, explosives, knives, batons, brass knuckles, and replica handguns.

No additional arrests were made.

Anyone with information on the stolen property is asked to contact 911.
